Job Description

This position will have a broad range of responsibilities serving as Finance lead delivering solid financial controlling support to senior leaders. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Director is a critical role intended to encompass activities related to budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting to support the corporation’s leadership team with current and future business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly accounting, forecast & reporting processes to ensure that Corporate, RnD, and financials timelines and objectives are met
  • Work closely with all functions to develop and review the strategic plan and budget, including monthly variance reporting and reviews with the CEO
  • Monitors/reports ongoing performance against budgets/forecasts and works with G&A and RnD
  • Prepare Management presentation material and present for weekly and monthly forecast/close meetings
  • Proactively identify, analyze and present financial reporting and analysis in and accurate and timely manner to Management team
  • Collaborate with R&D Strategy, Portfolio, and Project Management to identify financial risks and opportunities
  • Statutory accounts and management
  • Cash & treasury
  • Tax analysis and planning
  • Legal & governance
  • Investor relations

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of financial, business and strategic planning experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Strong quantitative, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead the annual budget, monthly forecasting and long-range planning process for G&A and RnD functions
  • Ability to build partnerships with all levels of management, investors and with corporate functions
  • Strong financial systems and business application skills including, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office etc.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and difficult to solve problems into understandable and consumable terms for the leadership team and Board
  • Creative problem solver, analytical thinker, and quick learner; ability to work through ambiguity; quick study of new or complex concepts; relentlessly resourceful and diligent
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to gain trust and support from investors and management
  • Excellent presentation and communication with C-level executives
  • Fluent in English
  • MBA will be a plus
